《酒徒》一九六二年十月十八日至一九六三年三月三十日連載於香港《星島晚報，星晚版》，經作者修訂後，一九六三年十月由香港海濱圖書公司結集出版，一九七九年出台灣遠景版，一九八五年中國文聯出版大陸版，一九九三年四月，香港金石圖書貿易有限公司重印。二○○三年七月，香港獲益出版事業有限公司刊印作者再次修訂版。本事版根據一九六三年最接手稿版重新排印出版，隨《酒徒》手稿本銷售。作者說過，寫《酒徒》第一為的是在忘掉自己的時候尋回自己；第二是要通過一個文人的感觸點來反映香港社會的現象，特別是文學因商品化與庸俗化的傾向而喪失特質的事實。作者為了說些坦率的話語，借一個酒徒作為這部小說的主人公，講一些「酒話」「醉話」。「酒後吐真言」，會加強小說的真實度；「酒後失言」，可得到人們的寬恕。作者還在此在此借酒徒之口說出了他對「五四」以來新文學的看法。至於寫《酒徒》，雖然運用了意識流技巧，作者曾強調，他與詹姆士．喬也斯的《優力棲斯》、威廉．福克納的《喧囂與騷動》、浮琴妮亞．吳爾芙的《浪》不同，作者無意臨摹西方的意識流小說，也無意寫沒有邏輯的、難懂的潛意識流動。

2) Mixed Orders (In-Stock + Pre-Order)
If your order includes both in-stock and pre-ordered items, we will ship the entire order once all items are available. If you would like to receive in-stock items sooner, please place a separate order.
3) Shipping & Tracking
Once your order has been shipped, we will provide a tracking number. Customers are responsible for monitoring delivery status and collecting the package from the post office if home delivery is unsuccessful.
4) Returned Packages
If a package is returned due to unsuccessful delivery or failure to collect, customers are responsible for covering the additional shipping costs required to resend the order.
